Six signals to read the stay at a glance.
Housed in a refined Tudor-style building dating back to 1922, this three-star hotel offers a step back in time with its historic character and vintage décor. Located just a short walk from Old Town Eureka, guests find themselves immersed in local history while enjoying modern conveniences such as free Wi-Fi and complimentary continental breakfast. The outdoor pool provides a refreshing space to relax, although it may be closed in cooler months.
While the hotel exudes charm with its high-ceilinged lobby, fireplaces, and period furnishings, it reflects a simpler era without air conditioning or a fitness center. The restaurant is currently closed, but nearby dining options offer a variety of choices within easy walking distance. Parking can require some effort, as some guests have noted the lot across the street.
The atmosphere is quiet and nostalgic, attracting travelers who appreciate architectural heritage and historic significance. The hotel has welcomed distinguished guests over the decades, adding layers of intrigue. Though some bathrooms are small and daily housekeeping is by request, the king suites and well-maintained rooms provide comfortable rest.

“I'am so pleased I found this remarkably historic hotel. The history the nostalgia and uniqueness is intriguing and mesmerizing. Don't expect lavish dinning or a full bar during the slow seasom, however there are a lot of resturants that are walking distance. Very close to the downtown. I'll be staying here on my next visit, sometime this month.”
“I stayed here Sept. '25. Loved the ambience of this classic hotel. The look and feel are as authentic as you can get and the staff were extremely pleasant. While the room was very well maintained, the bathroom floor needed cleaning. Other than that, no complaints.”
“Historic hotel that has hosted Churchill, U.S. presidents back to Hoover, movie stars and me. Magnificent lobby with high ceiling, portraits of distinguished visitors, lots of big chairs and historic curiosities. Our room was big and comfortable and decorated as if it was 1930. But there was almost no staff on hand, no restaurant and parking is a bit of a pain. The area around the hotel does not feel overly safe, especially having to park across the street and go in the back door of the building. The parking lot is fenced and gated after 10pm. Breakfast was included but was a bit of a joke. Very small seating area. Pastries and Jimmy Dean croissants.”
“Eureka inn is a truly beautiful place. Built in 1922 and hosted many celebrities and politicians. The decor and furnishings in the hotel just makes you feel like you went back in time through some type of a portal. We stayed there for a week and it was perfect for us as far as price and location to my brother’s house. Lots of nice vintage shops near by and the BIG redwoods are about an hour north of Eureka. Beautiful swimming pool, but close during our visit in February, burr a bit cold. The hotel has a lot of sitting areas in the main lobby, set in different groupings. They have a continental breakfast with good selection to choose from and open is from 6:30-9:30. They don’t make the rooms up every day, but they will upon request, which is okay with me because I’m just going to jump right back into bed. The hotel was very quiet, no late night drunk people talking loud and no kids running up and down the hallway. Unfortunately the restaurant in the hotel has been closed since the Covid scare. Too bad it looked like it would have been great place to eat. Hopefully they can reopen it again. Thanks to Rachel and Kayla. You were great hosts!”
